Our Story and Our Birds
Hatched January 15, 2021
I began my journey about five short years ago when Our family went from hobbyist to taking the leap of faith to official commercial Gamebird hatchery and breeder. Our family has a lot of passion for growing the fastest flushing, and hardest flying gamebirds possible and strive to be able to raise better birds. We are family-owned and operated Gamebird Farm in Trinity, Alabama, about 13 miles from Decatur, Alabama. Our birds are NPIP tested each season. We began with just a handful of Coturnix quail of assorted colors. But, like eating potato chips, you can't eat just a few. We discovered these birds taste great in a skillet. We began the journey to seek out good bloodlines of Bobwhites, Pheasants, and Coturnix Quail to start our dream, with more varieties of Gamebirds to come. We have compared gamebirds with poultry birds and decided Gamebirds and Coturnix Quail was the path to take. We started with the Coturnix Quail and loved the fact at six weeks of age, they would be egg-laying. Next, Bobwhites and the Pheasants followed. We fell in love with the whistle and calls of the Bobwhites. Though the Bobwhites take much longer to mature and lay eggs, we patiently wait for our new breeders to mature. We have a small flock of Bobwhites with plans to increase breeders this year. .Our pheasants are beautiful and large, with an iridescent, greenish-black plumage which is amazing. We love watching the birds from afar on camera and seeing them grow up and turn beautiful colors. Our pheasants are extremely wild! They are raised without blinders and are given large long high-roof flight pens with privacy screening to ensure flight readiness and no contact with cars, dogs, or other animals. We do not handle or enter pens except when necessary to keep them wild. We offer our birds, seeds, grains, and vegetation to prepare them for release. They are the most demanded pheasant that we offer. Trinity Gamebird farm only raises a limited number of these birds due to the amount of space required and the difficulty of raising them. We do offer fertile hatching eggs as they come available.. Our Bobwhites are outdoors to fly and be more wild with little human contact. maturity |
